All commissions require an advance payment equivalent to 50% of the agreed final price. This is to cover cost of materials and to secure the time required from my diary in order to undertake, and complete your artwork. In most instances, this advance payment is non-refundable - for example if you change your mind. This is because once your booking is agreed and confirmed, I will have purchased materials and spent my time working on your artwork - time which I could not allocate to anyone else or reasonably secure other work for at short notice. After all - Nobody wants to go to work without the understanding that they will be paid for the time that they have put in! If you fail to pay the balance for your artwork, I reserve the right to sell the artwork to cover my costs/time spent creating the artwork.
A contract will be provided prior to commencement and signed by both parties to confirm a commission booking.
Please view my prior work and be comfortable that my style of work suits your requirements before entering into an agreement to commission a piece of artwork. If it is a bespoke artwork from your brief and there is no copyright free image provided for me to work from, I will usually produce preliminary sketches of the final piece to make sure that you are happy to proceed before commencing work.
All photographs provided for commissioned artwork must have been taken by you, or you must have the express permission of the photographer before asking me to work from the photograph. All photographs are automatically copyrighted to the original photographer, just as all original artwork is copyrighted to the Artist.
Please do not ask me to make direct copies of other Artist's work, aside from it being morally wrong, it is also illegal. You can reference a style of artwork and request something similar, but know that it will not look anything like the original piece.
Prices quoted for postage apply to UK mainland addresses - please contact me for a quote for highland, island or overseas delivery. Overseas - You are responsible for investigating, and subsequently paying any import fees and taxes that are applicable in the destination country.
As the artist - I (Zara Louise Dickinson), retain all rights to any artwork that I produce. Whilst you have purchased an original artwork, you must not copy or reproduce that artwork in any way shape or form - either physically or digitally. You may share your purchased artwork on social media, but you must reference myself as the artist. I reserve the right to use images of my artwork in advertising and on my website for the purpose of promoting my artwork.
